Kenny Hayes:
Kenny is an award-winning* Ottawa-based singer-songwriter, actor, teacher, and performer whose focus in music is pop and folk with the occasional musical theatre flair. Songs Inspired by Shakespeare’s ‘Twelfth Night’”, his full soundtrack album to the critically-acclaimed Ottawa production, and worked solely as producer on Ottawa musician and artist Roy Van Hooydonk’s album “Love Songs for Realists”. Kenny’s song "Statue of the Engineer" was a finalist in the 2023 SongDoor International Songwriting Competition. He’s teamed up with singer-songwriter and cellist Alex Diab on "All My Days" and "Reflection", and with songwriter-producer Bryan Robert (bassist for Lionite) on "My Mind Goes Like (Nanana)" and pride anthem "This Love Is Our Love". Other music releases include his singles "Shower You Off Me" and "Eggnog Latte". Kenny’s music has been described as evocative, having a palpable positive energy and pleasing power while sparkling with delightful harmonies. about the event
Live! On Elgin will host a songwriter's circle on the last Sunday of each month in 2025. The songwriter's circle format originated in Nashville and made waves in the Canadian east coast. In these intimate unplugged sessions, songwriters sit together and take turns not only performing their original songs, but discussing the stories and inspirations that went into them. Each session will feature 3 or 4 guest songwriters, alongside host Cyrus R.O., of alternative rock band Valvehead and jazz fusion trio Finely Tuned Elephant.
