Last Sundays Songwriter's Circle
at LIVE! on Elgin
This Month Featuring Wool Sweater, Dawn Sev, & Kestrel Blue

Kestrel Blue:
Kestrel Blue is a project of singer-songwriter Michael Lisinski. Sitting somewhere between post-punk, jazz and coffeehouse folk, Kestrel Blue is about tying different labels together around the mantra "eleven chords and the truth".

Dawn Sev:
Rebellion never gets old. Mix Joan Jett-style rock with the sassy savoir-faire of Liz Phair and Motown girl groups, with a touch of Chappell Roan, and you’ve got the mix that makes Dawn Sev so special: loud rock with sly wordplay and whip-smart lyrics, a confident attitude, and the slick sounds of late 70s/early 80s alternative rock. That’s Dawn Sev’s trademark sound.
Dawn has released two EPs to date: TART (February 2023) a loud, literate, feminist rock romp; and 55! (October 2024). SPILL Magazine called TART “a solid EP from a new artist, who makes relevant and important music”, and proclaimed the songs as “well-crafted and relatable”. TART spent six weeks on the college and community radio charts, reaching #13 at CFBX in Kamloops, BC. 55! received radio play across Canada and the United States, reaching #2 on the CKCU radio charts.
Dawn is currently writing her début LP, and can often be seen playing open mics and gigs in Ottawa and the Golden Horseshoe.

Wool Sweater:
I'm a musician that likes to find cool new ideas with my friends. I try to cement them in reality in some way, usually in my journal, sometimes on a stage. Songwriting fluctuates with its presence in my life, but it's been with me in some sense for over a decade now. Hopefully many more to come.

about the event
Live! On Elgin will host a songwriter's circle on the last Sunday of each month in 2025. The songwriter's circle format originated in Nashville and made waves in the Canadian east coast. In these intimate unplugged sessions, songwriters sit together and take turns not only performing their original songs, but discussing the stories and inspirations that went into them. Each session will feature 3 or 4 guest songwriters, alongside host Cyrus R.O., of alternative rock band Valvehead and jazz fusion trio Finely Tuned Elephant.
